N. Jean Crist

was born Jan. 16, 1926, to Martin and Ramona Myers in Arkansas City, Kan. She died Jan. 1, 2009, in Scottsdale, Ariz., at the age of 82. Her family moved from Kansas to McClave, Colo., when she was 9. There she attended school and graduated from McClave High School in 1944. She married R.A. "Bob" Crist March 18, 1944, in San Diego, Calif., later returning to Colorado. In 1958, she and her family moved from Colorado Springs to Fowler, Colo., where she lived and worked with her husband, Bob, at the Crist Funeral Home. In 1968, they purchased the Geddes-Hibbard Mortuary in Boulder, Colo., and later built Crist Mortuary that they owned and operated until 1987. Following retirement, they lived in Evergreen, Monument and Pueblo West, Colo., moving to Arizona later in life. She is survived by her husband, R.A. "Bob" of Phoenix; daughter, Kaona Hazlett (Chuck) of Custer, S.D.; son, Martin (Stephanie) of Phoenix, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many friends and acquaintances. Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at Crist Mortuary in Boulder. Entombment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park. Alma "Grandma" Dean

82, born Nov.  3, 1926, in Pueblo, Colo., passed away Dec. 31, 2008.  Predeceased by her husband, James Dean; and her brother, Arthur Coy. Survived by her son, Jeff (Tina); granddaughter, Jaque; great-grandson, Tristan; sister, Alberta Starkweather; sister-in-law, Betty Lee Coy; and a wonderful extended family. There will be no viewing. Service, 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, Central Christian Church, with a reception immediately following in the church fellowship hall. Bob C. Standifer

80, passed away Jan. 2, 2009, at Medicalodge, Clay Center, Kan. He was born Feb. 3, 1928, in Wister, Okla., to H.L. and Bonnie (Moore) Standifer. He grew up in Wister, Okla., before moving to Norman, Okla. He graduated from Central State University and served in the U.S. Army from 1951 until 1953. Bob married Bonita Sunderland on July 3, 1954, and the couple moved to Pueblo, Colo., in the early 1960s. Bob was an elementary school teacher and principal in the Pueblo school district for many years. The couple moved to Clay Center in 2006. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Standifer of Clay Center, Kan.; daughter, Patricia Buterbaugh of Pueblo, Colo.; brother, George Standifer of Norman, Okla.; sisters, Colleen Morrison of San Antonio, Texas, and Frances Lovely of Kingswood, Texas; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial service, 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Chapel, Clay Center, Kan., with Pastor Grant Clay of the Clay Center Evangelical Covenant Church officiating. Inurnment, Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kan. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to Meadowlark Hospice, in care of the funeral home. Casimiro "Cass" Bustos

83, of Pueblo, went to be with the Lord Jan. 4, 2009.  Survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Maria (Annie); children, Shirley Willard, Lorraine (Bruce) Cordova, Larry Bustos; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. Cass was a proud World War II veteran. He retired from CF&I after 45 years of service. He loved going for walks at the Nature Center and vacations. Joseph Vaccaro

75, born, March 16, 1933, in Pueblo, Colo., went to be with the Lord on Jan. 1, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Josephine Ann "Jo Ann" Vaccaro; children, Joseph Thad (Dabney) Vaccaro, of Broadway, Va., Lisa (Jeff) Dorsey; grandchildren, Heather, Joslyn and Emily Vaccaro, Lauren and Jourdan Dorsey; sister in law, Dolores Vaccaro; nieces, nephews, cousins; pet dog, Jake; friends, Evelyn and Bill Hall, Dr. Tony Oreskovich and family; and many other special friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Josephine Vaccaro; infant daughter, Annette; and brother, Sam Vaccaro. Joe was in the Navy, Aviation Division and served in Korea. He later retired from CF&I. Joe also did volunteer work, enjoyed helping friends and family, and making stained glass windows and gifts. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge No. 145, La Familia Italia, and Shrine of St. Therese Catholic Church. The family wishes to thank the staff and volunteers at Sangre de Cristo Hospice, especially Allan and Wade. The family will greet friends at the visitation, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to  9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, Roselawn Funeral Home. passed away Dec 30, 2008, in Pueblo. Joyce was born Dec. 18, 1950, in Gunnison, Colo., and had lived in Pueblo since 2001. She was employed as a nurse for the Veterans Administration for many years in both Fort Lyons and Pueblo. Her survivors include children, Anson (Angela) Schultz of Castle Rock, Eric (Kim) Schultz of Westminster, Dana Schultz of La Junta; a brother and two sisters; as well as four grandchildren. Louis Trujillo

went home to be with the Lord and his loved ones on Jan. 5, 2009. Louis was born Oct. 27, 1931, in Pueblo, to Alfred and Molly Trujillo. Louis worked at the Pueblo Army Depot for nearly 40 years before his retirement. Mr. Trujillo and his family were longtime members of the St. Leander Catholic Church where he served as head usher. He was preceded in death by his loving wife and soulmate, Maria Evila, in 2006; as well as his brother, Ben; and sister, Josie Valdez. His survivors include his loving family, Kathy, Gary (Geri) Trujillo, Rick (Rozanne) Trujillo, Timothy Trujillo, all of Pueblo; brothers, Alfred Trujillo, Max (Joann) Trujillo; sisters, Lily Solano, Beatrice Roybal, eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous other loved ones and friends; including his special friend, JoAnne Lopez. Visitation, 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Davis Mortuary. Funeral Mass, 10 a.m. Friday, Jan 9, 2009, St. Leander Catholic Church, 1438 E. Seventh. Entombment will follow in the Roselawn Cemetery.
